Hi! I was wondering if there's a step missing in the recipe in which lemon sauce would b added to the sauce. The recipe says "more lemon juice" at one point, and I think adding juice to the sauce makes a lot of sense. Could that be checked? Thanks!
PUL Team - Feb. 26, 2026, 4:32 p.m.
Heyy Julia! Thank you so much for pointing this out. The lemon zest is added to the chickpeas, and the lemon juice goes into a sauté pan in step three 😊 The note about adding more lemon juice at the end is just for adjusting to taste once everything is combined.
We've updated the recipe wording slightly to help make this clearer ✨

Gosh, we’re so sad this one was such a let down, Marguerite. That’s frustrating, especially when you follow the recipe carefully and it still doesn’t come together. It’s possible the stove or pan you’re using runs hotter than ours, which could explain the burning. Lowering the heat a bit and using a non stick pan can really help, and for the sauce, it does need a good whisk before and during heating to stay smooth. I agree completely that onion and garlic would be delicious here. We chose to leave them out intentionally, as we’ve had a number of requests for onion and garlic free recipes for those who can’t tolerate them, and this was one recipe where we wanted to accommodate that. That said, adding onion, fresh garlic, or even a bit more garlic powder would be lovely for extra depth 🤗

Love this recipe! I add canned/jarred Artichoke hearts and spinach to mine when I make the sauce for more veggies and it is amazing! A crowd pleaser even for my meat eater family

Super quick and easy to make! I recommend using tapioca starch instead of corn starch, it gives the sauce a nice cheesy stretch. Makes for a perfect week day dinner 😍

Ooo thanks for the tip, Theresa, we'll be sure to try this out!

Did you still use 2 tablespoons of?

Mine needed a bit more lemon zest/ juice and salt than written to suit my taste. Also, highly recommend adding some extra almond milk when reheating if saving as leftovers. That kept the sauce super smooth and creamy instead of drying it out :)

It’s so so good, really creamy and comforting! You can’t go wrong with lemon pasta anyway but these one were really amazing I did it twice and swapped the chickpeas for green peas the second time and it was super good as well

I really liked how simple this recipe is! I thought the texture of the sauce with the chickpeas was great! My sauce turned out a little bland, so I added some salt and some more lemon at the end and me and my husband really enjoyed it :)
PUL Team - May 15, 2025, 4:33 a.m.
Hey Amy! Thanks for sharing your experience with the pasta 🤗 In case it helps, a lemon for us usually yields around 30 mL (2 Tbsp) of lemon juice. Adding more lemon juice or zest is a lovely idea to help brighten it 🌞

So delicious! I am not a huge fan of anything lemon. However, I had all of the ingredients for this simple recipe but a lemon, so I decided to give it a try, especially as I am a huge fan of roasted chickpeas. This dish was incredible! My husband didn’t except to like the chickpeas as he isn’t a fan of them, but he really enjoyed them roasted. He was saying how we had to make it again already and he could’ve served himself three more bowls, but he didn’t want to leave me with no leftovers for later.

This is so lovely to hear, Aileen! Thrilled you both enjoyed it, even with the lemon twist. Roasted chickpeas really do win hearts. 😊
