BOTH my kids liked this meal. I cannot tell you how rare that is. I will definitely be making this meal on repeat. Only change I made was to bake it in one large dish with puff pastry on top instead of regular tart dough.
Really tasty 😋
This is not the greatest food I have ever eaten, definitely not the worst. I like the texture and the crust. 👌
(With all these beans, beware the 💨)
Should I be freezing these cooked or raw? I'd assumed raw but wasn't sure given the wording
I would put more sauce and maybe mash half of the beans or switch for tofu to be less dry
Would regular tofu work? They don't have silken tofu at the shops where i go.
Loved the taste of the filling !
I baked at 390 for 25min but the pie crust did not cook too well, like it was harden on the outside but undercooked, do you have any tips ?
Absolutely love this! So simple and quickly put together and super comforting and nourishing 👌🏻
The first time we made these we didn't see the info that it's supposed to make 8 pies though with 2 pies per serving so we were a little confused that it didn't all fit into 4 dishes. Ours must also be a different depth because we got about 5-6 pies out of it. But this way one pie was enough for one person and when we wanted a little more we just shared a third one, so it still worked out perfectly fine ☺️
This was a HUGE success tonight! My only comment is the quantity: definitely filled more than four ramekins so I made one big pie and cooked at 170 C for about an hour. On a whim, I used filo pastry and sprinkled the top with salt, thyme and nigella seeds; it looked amazing. It's now on our list of 'favourites' .
Has anyone tried this with the gluten free and vegan puff pastry crust?
Made this for two and it was really tasty!
Delicious! Perfect for cold winter days, and frankly any other occasion.
Easy to make! Loved it and added some hot sauce for some extra kick:) Used canned beans.
So excited about these! One question: what if I don’t have ramekins? Can I just use a normal tray? Does the cooking time change? Thank you to the PUL team for the continuous amazing contents!
I'm so excited to try this!
