🧸 Sweet Potato Chickpea Patties

There's something so satisfying about watching your baby confidently pick up their own food. They're soft in the middle, lightly crisp around the edges, and made with pantry staples I almost always have on hand. They’re best suited for older babies and toddlers who are already comfortable with soft, textured finger foods. Serve them warm or cooled, with the creamy avocado yogurt dip for added moisture and healthy fats.

I’m very excited to try this recipe and that PUL is sharing toddler friendly recipes. This is perfect timing for my 15 month old. I’ve tried a few other recipes and she has loved them! :)

Aww how special to hear, Divya! So glad you're enjoying the recipes as well 🤗

I made double the amount right away so I could freeze some. It worked out perfectly and fits on one baking sheet. To thaw, put them in the air fryer for 5 minutes at 195 degrees—perfect! I really like the taste myself, even without salt. Next time I’ll use a little less yeast flakes; they’re a bit too intense for my taste. I’m also curious to see how the recipe tastes with other legumes, and I’m looking forward to more baby-friendly
recipes that we grown-ups enjoy too ☺️—or recipes you can cook for everyone, but with a note where you set aside some for the baby before adding salt? That would be a dream!

Jennifer Lau - Oct. 1, 2026, 11:20 p.m.

How would you alternatively cook it in an airfryer? 👏

PUL small logo PUL Team - Oct. 2, 2026, 2:39 a.m.

Hey hey, Jennifer! We haven't tried the air-fryer for this one yet, although perhaps air-frying it at around 375°F (190°C) for about 10 to 12 minutes, flipping halfway through is a start. Keep an eye on them toward the end, as air fryers can vary. And let them cool until warm before serving 🤗

Thank you!!! 👏🙌😍
