This soup is our creative twist on the cold soups, found in several different cuisines worldwide. It's especially close to Bulgarian tarator, which uses yogurt, cucumber, garlic and dill as its main ingredients. Simultaneously, it draws inspiration from Cacik, a refreshing Turkish cold soup typically seasoned with garlic and mint. It's the perfect soup on a warm summer's day.

We made it for friends hoping it would be refreshing during a very hot day. Everyone loved it. We added a bit of basil and white miso to bring a little umami and sweetness. Will make it again:)

Tasteless absolutely tasteless. I just spent an hour trying to doctor this up so it would have some flavor and we could consume it. More than triples the men still garlic and lemon juice. Still I'm not sure. Pretty frustrating really.

Hi there, Cynthia, thanks for taking the time to share your honest feedback. I'm so sorry to hear this recipe wasn't a hit, especially after spending extra time trying to adjust it.
In case it helps for comparison, we used Alpro unsweetened soy yogurt when creating this recipe. Some unsweetened soy yogurts can be more neutral, watery, or even slightly sweet, which can affect the overall flavour.
Since this is a chilled soup, the flavours can also taste more muted once cold, so it can help to taste and adjust after chilling with a bit more salt, lemon juice, garlic, or herbs as needed (which is sounds like you did). We’ll take another look at the recipe notes to see how we can make that clearer. I appreciate you giving it a try and sharing your experience with us 💚

Omg I used to eat bulgarian tarator in my childhood, then when I went vegan started using soy yoghurt. But haven't thought about for a while, thanks for reminding me, I will definitely be making this new twist! Thank you for this new recipe!! 💖😊
