In India and across South Asia, chaat (meaning small savoury snacks) and masala (meaning "spice blend") come together to make a unique seasoning mix. Although recipes can vary, it typically consists of different spices such as amchoor (dried mango powder), cumin, coriander, ginger, kala namak, and chili powder. It's often sprinkled over fruit or vegetables, mixing savoury, fresh, and sweet flavours.

Is there an alternative I can use instead of amchur? I want to try the popcorn recipe.

Hey there, Phillipa, the amchur adds a tangy sour flavour. It can be omitted or you can try using lemon or lime zest, or a pinch of citric acid, if you have it 🤗
