The kaassoufflé is a beloved Dutch snack often picked up at snack bars— popular spots for fries and other deep-fried snacks. While traditionally not vegan, we've made these completely plant-based with a delicious vegan cheese filling. They still have the same crunchy exterior and gooey cheese filling that makes them simply irresistible!

Would it be possible to make these in an oven/air-fryer as well?

Hi hi, Kim! It's always hard to say without testing it ourselves, and we've only made this so far in the traditional way by frying. That said, we imagine the oven or air fryer could be possible, albeit perhaps not as crispy. If baking, perhaps try brushing the tops lightly with oil and baking at around 400°F (200°C) for about 15 to 20 minutes, or until golden. In an air fryer, perhaps you could try 375°F (190°C) for around 10 to 12 minutes, flipping halfway through. Let us know how it goes if you try it out! 😊✨

This was so fun and quick to make, I've never had kaassoufflé before but I'm loving it 😁

Lovely recipe for Dutch kaassoufflé! Tastes like the real thing.
Disclaimer; I did use miso paste instead of mustard. I think it gives that umami flavor a bit better.
