A fluffy, sweet vanilla buttercream frosting is a staple baking recipe to have in your repertoire. It elevates a good cake recipe to a great one and can be jazzed up with the addition of food colouring, or different flavour extracts. The original amount of this vanilla buttercream frosts a 6-inch (15cm) triple-layer cake, or about 12 cupcakes when using a piping tip.

This recipe is both simple and delicious without being too sweet. It kicked my old buttercream recipe to the curb!

Which butter brand do you usually use? I also live in the Netherlands, but I haven't quite figured out which brand makes the best 'roomboter'. I know not many viewers would profit from it, but if you ever make an overview of the brands of your staple ingredients, I would highly appreciate it ;)

Hey Pema, we use the unsalted Vioblock from the brand Violife, purchased from Albert Heijn in the refrigerated section. If there are ever any other products you'd like to know about, just pop us a message and we'll get back right away ☺️ I hope this helps for now!

It turned out perfect but would like to add that this recipe needs an ice bath.

What do you mean by ice bath?

Putting the bowl of butter inside a bowl filled with ice, and then churning it. This way the butter won't melt.
